Some Beneficial Information On How To ... - Technology Reviews

Developing your own rig can an enjoyable experience. You will have to use your imagination . In conditions of creativity you will have to get innovative since in a computer there are a lot of parts and specs. You will have to do some trial and error when matching up the components from different brands to occur up with the Pc of your goals.

how to build a computer

Choosing an instance of your laptop or computer program is also essential in constructing a notebook. Remember that the whole personal computer regions are taken care of within the outer shell for that reason the complete appears in your pc depends upon the design and style of your own casing. A good deal of men and women dont very good care considerably concerning the seems to be however other individuals necessary it to be further colorful and have completely flashing tools and lights on it. Our desire in this is that Required it recover straightforward of which satisfies all of my demands. Think it or not possessing a wonderful deal far more flashing lighting and decorations are spam and it essentially draws an excellent offer more ineffective power in your current.

CD, DVD Drives? These are vital to any laptop or computer as primarily DVDs are utilized to retailer masses of knowledge like, plans, games and so on. But as usually these drives might need to be modified as engineering improves, so does new techniques of storing data like Blu-ray (Blu-ray can store masses of data but Blu-ray drives can cost a lot to be set in your personal computer). DVD drives can be acquired external so there is no need to have to have it created in, even however it is better have it built in, as a substitute of getting far more wires. All round a DVD Drive is a must have.

The circumstance is the component you ought to commit as tiny income as feasible on. It basically has no actual purpose so purchasing an high-priced one particular just for the sake of looks just isn?t an intelligent selection. You far better devote a tiny more cash on a great and fast graphics card that will permit you to play excellent online games and observe motion pictures in formats these kinds of as Blu-Ray.

Audio Card. This is almost certainly one of the easiest parts to select out and add. Most standalone audio cards you?ll see out there (the very best way to go) are fairly very good in the electronic audio that they will give you. I would go with Creative Labs, who I talked about earlier, simply because they?ve been all around since the mid 80?s they have got this appropriate. Almost every 1 sold and created today is the PCI slot, the most widespread motherboard slot, so it is fairly hard to select a sound card that won?t function.

If you are like a good deal of folks out there, you have had one particular or far more of people ready-created pcs, and you just are not delighted with them for various factors.?The position is, you are entirely able of building a computer oneself, considering that there are a great deal of straightforward tools offered on the internet to assist you figure out www.thepcresource.com?yourself.

Nonetheless, Intel didn?t want NVidia to go on with the plans, and took this circumstance to court, saying that NVidia does not have the license to generate chipsets that assist Intel?s new QPI(QuickPath Interconnect) system and built-in memory-controller technology. But NVidia states that they have a handful of-years old license that makes it possible for them to do the exact thing.

The very first issue you will want to do when constructing a pc is choose what it will be employed for. Will it be utilised for surfing the internet, checking out e-mail, and business office apps? Or will you be performing a whole lot of video clip editing? Or probably you want a machine for taking part in the newest and finest games. All of these are inquiries to request your self when beginning to construct a personal computer.

Fundamentally keep in head socket sort, cooling troubles, and motherboard compatibility. Conventional CD drives and CD writers are also accessible.

Gospel is for Mothers Too

If you're new here, I would love to have you join our community. You can subscribe to my RSS feed or subscribe by email so you don't miss a thing!

Today I am excited to introduce you to our guest, Sarah Van Beveren.? Here is a little bit about Sarah:

Sarah and her husband live in Canada, where she is a stay-at-home mom and future homeschooler to their three little girls. She loves coffee, reading, researching, and studying God?s Word. Her mind is always racing, and so she organizes those thoughts with written words. Writing helps her to hear God?s voice, work through the mess, and seek out His truth. She recently started blogging at Truth in the Journey.

?Sarah writes:

Defeat.

At the end of a long day of parenting, I feel it. I look around my house and see mess. Mess on my floors and mess in my heart. I pick up toys, clean up dishes, throw in the laundry. I remember the tears, the sibling fights, and the words that I used to wound. I feel drained and lacking, praying for the encouragement to press on tomorrow morning.

I have a feeling that I?m not the only one experiencing this.

The mundane of motherhood is starting to sound clich?. We?re all reading about it, and we?re all writing about it. It resonates across countries and cultures. And while the details change, the result is the same.

We?re all living it.

Because cliches are born out of reality, and the everyday of mothering couldn?t be more real. It?s confusing, it?s busy and often it?s a struggle. But it?s also sacred, and there is rest for us. Not rest in the form of hot coffee and good books, but rest we can possess even in the midst of commotion and disarray. Rest that doesn?t rely on anything this world has to offer. A rest ? a peace ? that passes all understanding.

We don?t need to try harder. We just need to lean harder.

We have a Savior who is sufficient to cover all of our mistakes and messes. Jesus has cleared us of our debt, taken on our sin and gifted to us His righteousness. Because of His work on the cross, we are no longer slaves to guilt and regret. Christ has triumphed and has set you free to be victorious.

Your defeat is not possible, because the gospel is for mothers too.

It?s for all of us, right where we are. It doesn?t just cover our past and secure our future. It?s for now. We need to preach it to ourselves every day. Every minute if necessary, because we forget how much we need it.

Charles Spurgeon said, ?If he gives you the grace to make you believe, he will give you the grace to live a holy life afterward.?

Did you yell at your children today? Did you decline an invitation to play so that you could do something else? Did you give in to the lie that joy can?t be found here?

?There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.? (Romans 8:1)

We?ve heard it before, but there is power in these words. When you begin to feel guilty because you aren?t being a good enough mother, remember that you can?t be. We all fall short of God?s glory, but he is working a renewal in our hearts and he is patient.

I am learning that at the end of the day, when I feel weary and ask God to give me strength for tomorrow, that is not a sign of weakness. Christian growth occurs when we finally see past our blindness and realize our dependence on One alone. When we believe that we can?t, but God can.

We don?t serve a distant God, but one who loved us enough to send His son. We can?t get through this life alone, and the weariness comes when we try.

Today, let Christ be your victory.

Blessings, Sarah

Japan factory output drops for 3rd month

TOKYO (AP) ? Japan's industrial production dipped 0.1 percent in June from May, the third straight monthly decline, showing that the world's No. 3 economy continues to struggle.

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry said Monday that factory output ? a key indicator for Japan's export-dependent economy ? fell on sluggish output of automobiles and electronics equipment.

Looking ahead, manufacturers project a 4.5 percent jump in factory output for July, which could overcome the drop over the previous three months. June's decline comes after a 3.4 percent drop in May and a 0.2 percent decline in April.

METI said that while shipments declined 1.5 percent in June, inventories also fell, dropping 1.4 percent.

J. Kings, LI Farm Bureau establish agri-park | Long Island Business ...

John King was faced with a dilemma recently when he purchased a former Blackman Plumbing Supplies building he had been eyeing for eight years that was larger than what he needed it for: What to do with that extra space?

After contemplating starting a paper company, King, founder of J. Kings, Inc., decided to go a different route that earned him thanks from people as far away as Albany: renting space in the Calverton facility to the Long Island Farm Bureau for cold storage and processing of locally produced fruits, vegetables, wines and fish.

?This is an opportunity we haven?t had out here,? said Joe Gergela, executive director of the Long Island Farm Bureau. ?We?ve always been good farmers here, but the problem is we don?t market well. This will assist us in better marketing what we produce here and giving our crops longer shelf life, making farmland more profitable.?

King illustrated the need for a regional agricultural terminal by recalling memories of last year?s Hurricane Irene. Farmers lost a large portion of their crops in the storm due to not having a cool place to store them that could have increased shelf life. Should another hurricane threaten the region, King said farmers could pick their crops ahead of time and store them at the facility, affording them the ability to sell the produce after the storm subsided.

The 108,000-square-foot facility, purchased by J. Kings a little over a month ago, will be split up between J. King?s produce-cutting operations and space for local produce, wines and seafood.

About 30,000 square feet of the building will be leased to the Long Island Farm Bureau and 10,000 square feet to Long Island wineries for processing and cold storage, which will increase shelf life for produce by about a week.

An 8,000-to-10,000-square-foot office area and conference center will be set up in the front of the building that farmers, winemakers or fishermen could use to meet with each other or clients. Letting J. Kings handle distribution of the local produce is an option to farmers, but will not be a requirement for storing food at the facility, King noted.

J. King?s Bay Shore facility, currently home to the company?s produce cutting facility, will be utilized entirely for its burgeoning Krazy Cooks Kitchen business ? fully prepared meals made by chefs sold in supermarkets. In total, J. Kings will be hiring 60 new employees between the Bay Shore and Calverton buildings.

Setting up an agri-park on Long Island was one of several priority projects set last year by the Long Island Regional Economic Development Council. Long Island received $500,000 from the state to research the creation of a facility, which was originally planned to be a multimillion-dollar facility on the grounds of Enterprise Park in Calverton. But just starting to research the concept would have taken too long, King noted.

?I read in the newspaper what they were looking to do, so I called Joe [Gergela] and said ?Look, you know you need this. I know you need this. I have the space, so let?s just do it,? he said.

Lt. Gov. Robert Duffy, on hand for the ribbon-cutting ceremony opening the facility, praised that mentality and said the building would allow Long Island to produce even more fresh food, wines and fish.

Agriculture represents a $4.5 to $5 billion industry in New York, and Suffolk County is currently the leading agricultural producing county by value in the entire state.

King said he expects to have the facility fully outfitted with the needed equipment to begin storing and processing produce within a month or so.

Priest charged after accuser, prompted by Penn State case, emerges

PHILADELPHIA (Reuters) - A Roman Catholic priest has been charged with the 1997 sexual assault of an altar boy, who was emboldened to come forward by the high-profile prosecutions of Monsignor William Lynn and former Penn State assistant coach Jerry Sandusky, authorities said on Friday.

The arrest of suspended priest Andrew McCormick, 56, who a prosecutor said "had a pattern of grooming altar boys," capped a tumultuous week for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, the sixth largest in the nation with 1.5 million members.

Days earlier, Lynn, the most senior clergyman convicted in the U.S. church pedophilia scandal, was sentenced to up to six years in prison for covering up child sex abuse by priests in Philadelphia. Prosecutors also said they would retry a priest who went to trial with Lynn but whose attempted rape case ended in a mistrial.

McCormick's accuser, now a 25-year-old man, told police in December he had been abused in the church rectory as a 10-year-old boy.

"News coverage of things going on out there, Penn State, and investigations involving other priests in this area," prompted him to come forward, Philadelphia Police Captain John Darby, head of the department's Special Victims Unit, told a news conference.

McCormick was charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, statutory sexual assault, sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a child, corrupting the morals of a minor, indecent assault and indecent exposure, said District Attorney Seth Williams.

Authorities said those crimes occurred at St. John Cantius church in the city's Bridesburg section in 1997.

Williams said he believed there were other victims in the case.

"Mr. McCormick had a pattern of grooming altar boys," Williams said.

"I applaud the courage of this young man," he said. "With every new sexual assault arrest and conviction like Monsignor Lynn, we hope that more victims will have the courage to come forward."

McCormick was arrested in suburban Pottstown, Pennsylvania, where his parents live.

The archdiocese said McCormick was one of several priests placed on administrative leave in March 2011 after a grand jury report on child sex abuse by priests and others tied to the archdiocese.

"Since that time Father McCormick has not been permitted to exercise his public ministry, administer any of the sacraments, or present himself publicly as a priest," the archdiocese said.

What Pepe Le Pew Can Teach You About Success In Business

My favorite Looney Tunes character?

? Maybe it?s the romantic in me?

? is Pepe Le Pew.

I seriosly love the Pepe Le Pew cartoons so much that I almost named my dog for this Looney Tunes short.

My dog is a French. A French Bulldog.

Penelope is a French name and the name of the cat that Pepe is always chasing.

My dog almost ended up being named Penelope (Penny) for short, but I settled on Pearl instead.

Marketing & Productivity Tips From Pepe Le Pew

Here is what I dig about Pepe?

He is sauve. Consistent. Never looks stressed. Stays relentless without overexerting himself.

He is casually persistent.

No matter how fast, how frantic, how far Penelope runs? Pepe is always right there. And he never breaks a sweat. He just does his little hop and sings his little song.

Pepe stays positive. He never looks disappointed or frustrated or upset. No mater what happens to Pepe he always has a good attitude. I think the reason is because he is chasing something he loves.

Are you chasing what you love?

It?s important to do all these thinsin your marketing and to increase your productivity.

    • Don?t stress.
    • Be consistent.
    • Stay relentless? but don?t overexert.
    • Stay positive.
    • Chase what you love.
    • Don?t just chase your prospect? be where they will be.

RolePlayGateway?

This thread is a compilation of the races, factions, and locations important to Kirkwall, and to the RP, and will hopefully serve as somewhat of a beginner?s guide to Dragon Age lore for those not very familiar. I will add to it by request. Most of this information comes from the Dragon Age Wiki, and of course if you?re curious about anything, the wiki will have the information you need, as well as probably a whole lot more you won?t care about. These tidbits I?m providing are just to get a general sense of the important things to Kirkwall. I highly recommending reading the respective wiki entries of whatever group you are planning on creating a character of, if you aren?t already familiar with the lore.

Please do not post in this thread unless I?ve given you permission. Thanks!

Here is a map of Thedas, for those who are curious, though the RP will be taking place exclusively in and around Kirkwall. Still, it helps to know where everything is.

Humans

The most numerous of the races in Thedas, but also the most divided. Rarely have the humans united under a single banner, and the last it happened was centuries ago. Humans have created drastically different societies across the world, powerful nations such as Ferelden, Orlais, and the Tevinter Imperium. They are also responsible for the creation of the Chantry, the most common religion in human society. They are the most versatile of the races, and will typically adapt to any given situation if given enough time. The greatest threat to human dominance in Thedas is their lack of unity. Centuries old hatreds divide some nations, and it would take a truly massive threat to get them all to cooperate.

There is also great difference among the classes of humans. The nobility often live in great luxury, while the unfortunate poor are looked down upon and left to fight amongst themselves for survival. In Kirkwall, this problem is particularly acute, and has even led to violence in the past.

Elves

The elves of Thedas are typically slightly shorter than humans, and have more slender, lithe builds. Their life spans are no longer than that of humans, though it is speculated that this was not always the case. They believe they were once an immortal and immensely magically talented race that lived in harmony with the natural world, but that the arrival of humans ?quickened? them, causing them to begin aging and dying. Humans were also responsible for the eventual destruction of their empire, so it?s no surprise the two races don?t often get along well.

Most elves in the present live as second class citizens in human cities, and racism between humans and elves is a common occurrence, in both directions. They are typically confined to alienages in the poorer districts of a city, where they try to keep some small amount of their culture alive. Some elves, however, refuse to submit to any human rule, and wander the wild in clans known as the Dalish, who dedicate themselves to preserving their culture, and not allowing it to be destroyed by the humans. Though it may no longer be possible, the elves wish for a return to their former splendor, before all of their culture is lost to the ages.

Dwarves

The dwarves, like the elves, were once a far greater people than they are currently, though the cause of their downfall has been the darkspawn, not the humans. The large majority of these short, powerful, hardy folk dwell in underground cities carved from the stone. The darkspawn also originating from underground, it was no surprise that the Dwarven kingdoms were the first to suffer from their arrival. All but one of their cities have fallen, the last being Orzammar, underneath the Frostback Mountains in Ferelden.

Several major differences separate dwarves from the other races. They do not enter the Fade, the realm of spirits and demons, as elves and humans do, when they dream, and thus they lack magical talent utterly, although they gain a resistance to all magical forms, and lyrium exposure, in return. They place a large emphasis upon strength and martial prowess instead. Their religion, too, is different. They do not worship the Maker as the humans do, but rather the Stone from which they were born, as well as Paragons of their society, individuals who distinguish themselves in their lifetimes enough to become essentially living gods.

Qunari

The Qunari, for the most part, are a mystery to the races of the mainland. They hail from an unknown eastern land across the Northern Ocean, a land which they since lost contact with more than a century ago. Their territory in the known world consists of the islands Par Vollen and Seheron, in the north, although their armies once threatened to conquer the entirety of the known world, and were one of the few things that could unite humans together. They currently have a firm grip on Par Vollen, and battle with the Tevinter Imperium for control of Seheron, a war which has lasted over eighty years.

The word ?Qunari? does not actually refer to the horned species that one thinks of, but rather any being who adheres to the teachings of the Qun, the strict religion which the Qunari follow, meaning that elves, humans, and dwarves could become Qunari if they wished. The horned people are actually called kossith, though they are almost always referred to as Qunari. Few understand their duty-centric beliefs, and the vast majority of people simply fear them for their ways, which seem brutal and unforgiving by human standards.

The Chantry

The Chantry is the dominant religious organization across Thedas, the philosophy of which is based upon the life and teachings of the prophetess Andraste. The teachings were written in the form of the Chant of Light, and are supposedly the words of the Maker, the holy being which has since abandoned mankind for their transgression, specifically those of the first magisters in the old Tevinter Imperium, who sought to use blood magic to enter the Maker?s golden city, but instead ended up destroying it. The faithful believe if the Chant can be spread to the four corners of the world, that the Maker will hear it, and return to His children.

In practice, the Chantry holds a great deal of power in all human lands save for the Tevinter Imperium, where the Magisters still effectively rule. The entirely female priesthood of the Chantry is headed by the Divine, who leads from the Grand Cathedral in Val Royeaux, in Orlais. But the Chant has indeed spread far. In Kirkwall, the Chantry is prominent enough to have a Grand Cleric, and the opinions of her and her fellow sisters and mothers are highly respected throughout the city.

The Templar Order

The Templars are a military order of the Chantry with the primary duty of watching over the mages within the various Circles of Magi throughout Thedas, as well as hunting down mages living outside of the Circle, known as apostates, specifically those that resort to blood magic, known as maleficarum. Officially, they are a force for defense, established to protect the faithful from threats of magical origin. In truth however, they are an army; well-equipped, extremely disciplined through training, and highly devoted to the Maker. They are specifically trained to combat mages, and possess abilities to both shield themselves from magic, and nullify a mage?s ability to cast spells in the first place.

Those that believe the Viscount is the one ruling Kirkwall are fools; the real power rests with the Templar Order in the city, and their driven Knight-Commander. The Order has a very strong presence within the city, strong enough to the point where the Viscount is forced to listen to the Knight-Commander?s counsel, especially in matters relating to the local Circle of Magi. Very little happens in Kirkwall without the Templar Order?s knowledge.

The Circle of Magi

There are some things one must understand about magic in Thedas to understand why the mages are treated as they are. Magic originates from the Fade, the realm of spirits and demons, the place where people dream. Malevolent spirits, the demons, wish little more than to experience mortality, and incessantly try to possess mages. Use of magic can draw the attention of demons on the other side of the Veil, and increase the risk of demonic possession. A mage who becomes possessed by a demon becomes an abomination, an immensely powerful creature of nightmare. It is for this reason that the Templar Order watches over mages, confines them into easily defended areas. Mages are dangerous, whether they intend to be or not. It is often a mage with the best intentions that causes the most damage.

And of course, some mages do not have good intentions. Some willingly make dealings with demons, acquiring the knowledge they possess often in exchange for something the demon wants, which rarely is beneficial for others. Demons alone fully understand the intricacies of blood magic, the forbidden school which is feared above all others for its incredible potential for power through dark rituals. Put all this together, and it?s no wonder the mages are oppressed in the current age.

The Circle was established by the Chantry, and it is enforced by the Templars. Children that show magical potential are taken by the Circle usually between 6 and 12 years of age, regardless of their social status. They are trained under by older mages, and watched closely by the Templars, until they are young adults, at which point they undergo a trial called the Harrowing, meant to prove that they are capable of defending themselves against the lure of demons. Should they fail, the Templars kill them on the spot. Even after passing, mages are confined to their Circles unless given explicit permission by the Templars that they may leave for some purpose, in which case the Templars will still follow them, to ensure nothing goes wrong.

It is undoubtedly a harsh system, but the dangers mages have posed upon the world in the past seem to indicate that it is necessary. How far the Templars should be allowed to go, however, remains up for debate.

Dalish Elves

All the lands of Thedas are ruled by humans, and so the Dalish, a people who wish to live under no rule but their own, are generally not welcome in most places. They are an extremely proud people. Their clans date back to the time when elves once had an empire, and as such, they believe they have the purest blood of all elvenkind. They are also extremely distrusting of outsiders, particularly shemlen, the humans, although they are also known to not even really respect their city dwelling cousins, those who have given up the old ways to live under the heels of humans. They are peerless hunters, and each clan has a pair of mages, the Keeper, who leads the clan, and the Keeper?s First, an apprentice who will lead the clan when the current Keeper passes on.

Members of the nomadic Dalish clans are marked with vallaslin, or blood writing, in intricate facial tattoos upon reaching adulthood, with different designs representing the different gods in the Elven Pantheon. A Dalish elf within the city would not be mistaken for just another city dweller by the elves within, and would likely be treated with respect, if not reverence. They represent the greatness that was once the elven race.

Surface Dwarves

While they aren?t necessarily a faction, there are certain differences that surface dwarves typically have from those that remain in the underground city of Orzammar. Living upon the surface is a fate that many dwarves fear; the very sky seems a danger. And with their reverence of the Stone, dwarves who voluntarily leave the city to live upon the surface are largely looked down upon. Should they attempt to return to the city, they would likely be casteless, and not have a place in dwarven society any longer.

It is typically dwarves from the lower castes that end up on the surface, as leaving Orzammar can be an escape from the caste system that holds them down. On the surface, they can make their own fortunes, both for themselves, and for their children. The lower caste background also means they are more likely to be criminals, considering that often the only profession available for casteless dwarves involves crime.

Some of them don?t even have beards.

General descriptions of the locations in and around Kirkwall. These are the locations your characters can travel to during the RP.

Hightown

Everyone who is anyone in Kirkwall lives in Hightown. In their bird?s nest overlooking the rest of the city, the people of Hightown have little to complain about other than the occasional stench that wafts up from Lowtown. The people here feel safe, if only because an invader would have to scale the many steps upon the stairs up to Hightown. In several wars, Hightown has held out for months after Lowtown was more or less destroyed. It is the only wealthy district of the city, and those who live in Hightown are the envy of all in Kirkwall.

Notable Places in Hightown
The Viscount?s Keep: The center of power in Kirkwall, symbolically. It towers above the other manors in Hightown, and is only rivaled by the Chantry in terms of splendor. Home to the Viscount and his family, as well as the guard barracks.
The Chantry: The home of the Grand Cleric, a towering structure that dwarfs the other mansions. It is as much a symbol of the Chantry?s powerful hold over Kirkwall as it is a place of worship.
The Blooming Rose: A luxurious brothel in Hightown?s Red Lantern District. They provide "the royal treatment" for 2 sovereigns, "standard services" for 1 sovereign and for 50 silver "someone may briefly touch you for an hour."

Lowtown

Lowtown is literally a pit where slaves once lived, back in the days when Kirkwall was a frontier city for the Tevinter Imperium. Here the city?s common folk carved a living out of the rock face, while their overlords rested in luxury at the top of the city?s narrow stairs. In the present, it is the most colorful and lively part of Kirkwall, though certainly not the safest. It?s a melting pot of human, dwarven, and elven residents, none of which have much coin to speak of. A newcomer would find Lowtown a vast maze, filled with shantytowns and unorganized corridors, clustered around markets and stalls.

Notable Places in Lowtown
The Elven Alienage: The elves of Kirkwall live in a rather secluded corner of Lowtown, around the vhenadahl, the massive tree that all alienages have. It?s possibly the only greenery in the district. Though the elves are poor, there are worse places to be in Kirkwall.
The Hanged Man: One of the more popular destinations in Kirkwall, despite its seedy reputation. It?s a tavern where the ale tastes like piss and the stew has meat of unknown origin, but many people, both travelers and locals, will pass through it, and share their stories among questionably good company.

Darktown

Those in Lowtown can take comfort in the knowledge that as bad as they have it, others have it worse. Darktown is a den of inequity, a place where only the most pitiful of people dwell. It?s built in the underground and sewers of the city, and is typically polluted, the streets covered in a kind of toxic fog, making it no surprise that disease has become widespread throughout the district. It is a hive of crime, and numerous criminal bases, such as the dwarven Carta, make their home here. Even the Templars tend to keep their distance from Darktown, viewing the place as simply a lost cause. If someone needed a place to hide, Darktown would be their best bet. The arrival of the Blight refugees from Ferelden only made the problems of the district worse, as many of them were forced into Darktown, having no other place to go.

The Docks

Kirkwall?s docks are located across a small channel from the towering Gallows, at the base of Lowtown, just outside of the city?s massive walls. Like Lowtown, it was carved out of the quarry rock by slaves from the time when Kirkwall belonged to the Imperium. Currently, this is where the majority of the trade performed within the city is done, and anyone with a ship will be visiting this area frequently. Supposedly one must have a permit in order to dock in Kirkwall, but the city guard rarely enforces this.

Notable Place in the Docks
Qunari Compound: After the Arishok and his fleet were shipwrecked off the Wounded Coast, the Viscount ?gifted? them with a section of the docks for them to temporarily stay in, until a ship comes to take them home. The Qunari have since heavily fortified this compound, and it now appears more like a fort than a temporary home. The thick wooden gate they built opens only for those whom the Arishok has business with.

The Gallows

Anyone seeking entry to Kirkwall by sea must first pass through the Gallows, a towering castle on an island across a narrow channel from the Docks. This place was designed by the magisters of the Tevinter Imperium, meant to break the spirits of the slaves who once passed through on their way to the quarries. Statues of tortured slaves fill the courtyard, mementos of the city?s history. Its current use is to be the home of the Circle of Magi in Kirkwall, as well as the army of Templars that keep watch over them. The city guard also has a presence in the castle, operating and maintaining the city?s dungeons, underneath the surface.

Notable Locations in the Gallows
Templar Hall: The home of the Templars in Kirkwall. It is here that they are trained, housed, and supplied, and is the home of the Knight-Commander and her highest officers.
The Circle of Magi: On the opposite end of the castle, in considerably smaller quarters, are the mages of the Circle, and their First Enchanter. The Gallows could easily be seen as more of a prison than a home for them.

Sundermount

Kirkwall is guarded by the Vimmark Mountains to the north, the largest of which is also the nearest to the city. Sundermount has a dark reputation, with legends stating that it was the site of a vicious battle between the Tevinter Imperium and the elves of Arlathan. Great horrors were supposedly unleashed during the battle, and to this day unholy beings prowl the mountain?s heights.

Notable Places at Sundermount
Dalish Encampment: The Sabrae Clan of Dalish elves were forced to settle at the mountain?s foot after losing their herd of halla, the noble creatures that pull the elven landships which carry their kind. Their Keeper supposedly has business in the area as well.

The Wounded Coast

One of the roads that travel into Kirkwall, the Wounded Coast is typically avoided if possible, due to its reputation for housing bandits that hide among the rocky cliffs, as well as the predators that make their home in the area. There is little vegetation here apart from the occasional palm tree, and storms frequently lash the area. One such storm caused the Qunari fleet in the area to crash upon the rocks, killing many of their warriors, and leaving the rest stranded in the city.

The Bone Pit

Due to Kirkwall?s dark history, there are few places surrounding it that have good reputations. If you couldn?t tell from the name, the Bone Pit is not one of these places. It was once known as the Maharian Quarry, and was once of the mines controlled by the Tevinter Imperium. As always, the magisters used slave labor to work the mines, and the Bone Pit got its name from the high number of workers that died within the mines. Stories are told of one overseer who supposedly fed the occasional slave to his dragonling pets, presumably as punishment. Some believe the number of deaths actually weakened the Veil in the area, effectively cursing the mine. It is currently owned by an Orlesian Hightown merchant, who is employing mostly Ferelden refugees, the cheapest available labor.

How List Building Can be Easy with the Empower Network - The ...

You have heard it before, List Building is the Key to Success$$

list building38,000 Internet Bloggers see the opportunity in joining the Empower Network, and they also see the absolute power in being a blogger. Unfortunately, there are some marketers who don?t quite understand the significance in list building.

Building a list will give you the target market to talk to when you have something of value to share, whether it is products, training or service?s to sell.

So before we move on, what is a list? Your list is contact information of those who are interested in what you have to offer or say. So the million dollar question is how you get people to give you their information. Simply by offering them something of value. Something that they think is worth the value of giving you their contact information.

In order to ensure your success at list building you need to know who your target audience is and what they are struggling with in order to offer them a solution to their problems. For example, if your target market is stay at home moms, then you need to know what they are struggling with. Maybe it?s struggling with time or finding good work at home jobs or opportunities. The ideal is to help them with a solution to their problems.

list building

A stay at home mom who comes across your content, offering value driven solutions to her problems, will more than likely be willing to give you her contact information for your knowledge. Present your content and yourself in a way that stay at home moms can connect with, if you do they will coming back to you and your website more often than you think. Of course you want to build a list that is responsive to you. It will certainly help if you frequent or participate in groups or forums where stay at home moms frequent, whether this is offline or online.

As your list begins to grow you can now broadcast your blog post directly to those stay at home moms who are interested in what you are talking about. You have a targeted audience with whom you can interact and share information as well as sell your services, business opportunities and products to. Now you have created a relationship.

However, I do want to point out that list building will depend on a lot of factors such as; do people connect with you, article rankings, traffic, backlinks, content, SEO, page rank and more. My point is it could take some time to build a profitable list.

list building

But what if there was a way you could bypass all the mumbo jumbo, I just mentioned and build your list with a high authority, high traffic sales funnel website already built for you. Wouldn?t that be something to look at?

Would it be worth your time and effort to simply concentrate on blogging, about anything, and let the website help you with your list building and you do nothing else?

The Empower Network is a list builder. It?s the reason why individuals like Lawrence Tam, Toby and Layla Black and Tracy Walker are crushing it in their network marketing business. They have built a list through the Empower Network, made upfront 100% sales commissions as an Empower Network Affiliate and have sponsored new reps into their business from their list building efforts using the Empower Network. The bottom line is that the Empower Network will help your list building and more.

If your sitting on the fence thinking is the Empower Network for me, then I would suggest you listen to the following Audio MP3. As a matter of fact listen to it a couple of times.

Why? Because if your not sure about yourself, your list building skills, and how the Empower Network can help you build your list, put some extra money in your pocket or marketing budget then this audio is for you. If all you want to do is build your list and blog then this audio is for you also.

In this audio John Wells shares with David Woods how he started with only $300 in his bank account, no list and how he has now made $30K with the Empower Network.

HuffPost Radio: BOTH SIDES: Accen-tu-ate the Negative: Mitt Hides Taxes? Yes. Barack Hates U.S. & Business? Nah.

Ron Reagan and Mary Matalin debate when mud sticks. In finding an alleged Muslim mole at State, Michele Bachmann showed herself to be, in Joan Walsh's pungent phrase, "a McCarthy with lipstick." But this week also saw salvos that again question Obama's roots and loyalties. Wasn't this litigated in 2008 when he won by over eight million votes? Is criticism of Romney's tax and SEC filings the equivalent of criticism of Obama's patriotism?

On Attacking Romney for Tax Returns. It's Week Two on Romney's hidden finances now that The National Review, The Wall Street Journal and numerous GOP luminaries (Perry, Paul, Scarborough, Kristol, Will, Dowd... ) have urged Romney to disclose more than one year of his tax returns.

Reagan argues that stonewalling for the 110 days until the election will be a "drip, drip, drip" that will be very damaging since the presumptive nominee, a cost-benefit efficiency expert, sure looks like he has something to hide. Mary vigorously disagrees, concluding that more isn't required, that it would only boost Obama's negative research and that folks "care more about their taxes than Romney's." Why then are Ann Romney and she about the only people sticking up for Mitt? "Never send a man to do a woman's job," she cheerfully responds. As for those "armchair warriors" urging more disclosure based on George Romney's example, "they're playing under the old rules and, respectfully, are wrong. Guess what -they're not the nominee."

Ron adds that this is not merely a process/procedural issue but one that reflects character. Romney looks like a guy "who is entitled and plays by his own set of rules." Mary wonders why "rich Democratic candidates aren't similarly questioned, like John Kerry"? Ron reminds us that it was his wife not running for president who had the big portfolio, not him -- and he released tax returns for every year in the Senate.

LISTEN HERE:

On Attacking Obama for... whatever. The Romney outrage machine struck back at Obama by first questioning his much-publicized comments in Roanoke that businesses need individual initiative and public roads/bridges/education to succeed. Mary agrees with Romney that this comment in historic context shows Obama's to be a "spread the wealth around" collectivist. But speaking of this specific context, Ron asserts that Romney is simply "lying" in an ad that omits part of the quote that makes it obvious Obama's "you didn't build that" refers to roads, not companies. Indeed, Romney himself later made the exact same point, one that reflects E. J. Dionne's new book, The Divided American Heart, namely that that the American story is one of balancing individualism and community.

Lying? Mary retorts that Obama is one too since he called Romney a "felon." Ron replies that it wasn't Obama but aide Stephanie Cutter who said that because, factually, if Romney signed false SEC documents about his role at Bain Capital '99-'01, "it would be a felony."

Then we listen to Limbaugh, Sununu and Romney saying, respectively, that "Obama hates America," that he smoked weed and spent time in Indonesia and that he had "foreign" views. Ron hotly asks Mary if it would OK then for Obama's campaign to say that "Romney hates America"? He adds that this mudslinging may appeal to "those mouthbreathers in the GOP base who already believe he's a Kenyan socialist but will repel that 6 percent of swing voters who will decide the election."

Mary doesn't think that any of the men went too far in their attacks. Isn't it smarter for the Republicans to focus almost exclusively on the economy given weak numbers or continue to assail Obama so personally? "Both," she answers, maintaining that Limbaugh is right that Obama "is dismantling America brick-by-brick."

On Who Will Get the Silver for Veep. The panelists weigh in on who will be asked to join the GOP ticket. In an era of strong VPs like Cheney and Biden, they agree that the criteria are who could be president if necessary, would "do no harm" to Romney, who gets along with him personally and, in Mary's words, "has real Washington experience since we're in a mess."

What about the Beltway conclusion that it's down to Tim Pawlenty and Rob Portman? Our Republican expert notes that Pawlenty has "an everyman appeal and was a red governor in a blue state [Minnesota]" while Portman is really smart and respected. Will his years at OMB under Bush be a liability given the poor economic performance that led to the Great Recession, the Host asks? Mary thinks that credential would be an asset. And she tosses out the name of Paul Ryan as an o-wow pick. Ron thinks it's an "oh-no" choice because of his Medicare voucher proposal -- then there's talk of Gov. McDonnell of Viriginia since, like Portman's Ohio, it's a swing state. (No Rubio or Ayotte mentions.)

Last, Mr. Reagan is asked if it's true that former president Gerald Ford offered himself as a sort of VP "co-president" to his father in 1980? The son confirms that he and Mike Deaver listened to the ex-prez make his case to the future-prez, both hoping (and believing) that Dutch would say no. (Host: using history as a guide, son and father were vindicated.)

*Quick Takes: Lin/Weiner. Katie's Liberation. Punishing PA and JoPa. With Linsanity over and enroute to Houston and Anthony Weiner considering an NYC comeback, the panel is asked about other toast to toast-of-town to toast stories. Mary talks about this being a country of second chances, citing the Clintons in particular. Ron goes with Nixon and Bo Jackson.

Then neither regard Katie Holmes's choreographed escape from her husband's celebrity and religion as particularly noteworthy -- and they also agree that Joe Paterno's statue at Beaver Stadium should be taken down [it was the next day]. And there's consensus that the next football season not be cancelled because that would punish innocent students. To maintain both sides, the Host focuses not on innocent Penn State students but innocent abused kids. "You punish the school which was part of the coverup in order to deter other institutions."

Reference and Education Articles Blog: Online Continuing ? blog ...

There has been an upward trend in online education for the last six to eight years. The stigma of online education started to disappear when large, accredited schools starting offering online degrees. Many adults returning to school take online classes. A typical online student works full time and has a family. They cannot attend classes on a weekly basis but, still need additional education to advance their career. Online classes have a lot to offer students. First and foremost, they are more flexible than classroom courses. Many programs are asynchronous, meaning you do not have to be online at a specific time for an online chat or lecture. Most classes consist of case studies, discussion board postings, and quizzes. Second, you can complete the online courses from anywhere in the world with internet access. You can do your assignments from your home, office or even automobile! This feature is very beneficial because you are able to save money on gas, not worry about parking and complete your homework no matter where you are located. Finally, for most Universities you are learning the same information online as you would if you were sitting in a classroom. Meaning, you are not getting any type of discounted degree. This feature is probably the most important. Many professors actually teach both online and classroom courses making sure the content of the courses are the same. This is also important because you will be receiving the same degree and diploma as a student who did all of their coursework on campus.

Expense is another factor to consider when looking into online courses. Many times colleges and Universities will drop their tuition rate for online classes. Since there is no real overhead they are able to offer the same degree programs at a lower cost. Students really appreciate this and take advantage of it all the time. They receive the same education and degree at a discounted price. As long as the school is accredited any employer should accept the degree. It should not matter if the program was done online or on campus. Regional accreditation will allow a student to transfer classes from one school to another or pursue higher education; such as a master?s degree or PhD. This is very important since you never know where life could take you in the future. Don?t waste your time and money completing a degree from a school that is not regionally accredited!

Panda Cloud Antivirus Pro Edition 2.0

Antivirus protection is an absolute necessity for the modern PC, but alone it's not sufficient to guarantee security. At the very least you need a two-way firewall as well; adding phishing protection and other security features couldn't hurt. Panda Cloud Antivirus Pro Edition 2.0 ($29.99 direct) combines antivirus, firewall, antiphishing, and a few other features, making it a small-scale security suite. Based on our testing, though, you might be better off just combining Panda's free antivirus with a free firewall.

The same miniscule program that installs Panda Cloud Antivirus Free Edition 2.0 (free, 3.5 stars) will install the Pro edition too, if you have a registration key. You can also upgrade the Free edition to Pro at any time.

Same Protection Against Malware
The antivirus component is the same for both editions, so I'll just summarize my results from testing the Free edition here. For full details, please read that review.

Panda Cloud Antivirus is best at keeping malware from gaining a foothold on a clean PC. It had trouble installing or running on many of my test systems. Fortunately, Panda offers a large number of tools to help out with the cleanup process. Unfortunately, they were all needed, and getting some of the test systems cleaned up took several days.

Thanks in no small part to Panda Cloud Cleaner, Panda SafeDisk, and remote-controlled use of the PSCAN tool, Panda detected 84 percent of the threats and scored 5.4 of 10 possible points for removal. With 6.4 points, Bitdefender Total Security 2013 ($79.95 direct for three licenses, 4 stars) has the best score among products tested with my current malware collection. For details on how I perform this analysis, see How We Test Malware Removal.

Related Story

Panda was much more effective at blocking new malware attacks. It detected 92 percent of the threats and scored 9.2 of 10 possible points, and earned 10 of 10 points for blocking rootkits. The most effective malware blocker among products tested with the same sample set was SecureIT Plus ($5.95/month direct, 2 stars), with 9.7 points. The article How We Test Malware Blocking explains how I derive these scores.

Related Story

Most of the independent antivirus labs include Panda's technology in their tests. It gets good marks overall, though it's not at the level of top-scoring vendors like Bitdefender, Kaspersky, and Symantec. The chart below summarizes recent results, and the article How We Interpret Antivirus Lab Tests introduces the various labs.

Related Story

Limited Phishing Protection
Panda's URL filter keeps users from accidentally visiting malicious or fraudulent (phishing) sites. Both editions get the benefit of this protection, but in testing it proved less than fully effective. It didn't block any actual malicious sites, though the antivirus caught some threats during the download process. Its phishing detection rate lagged 68 percentage points behind Norton and one point behind Internet Explorer alone. The article How We Test Antiphishing explains how I obtain the freshest phishing URL samples and derive these scores.

Related Story

Panda doesn't include a parental control component, but if you were desperate to know what websites have been visited from your family's computer, you might conceivably use the URL monitor feature. Present in both Free and Pro editions, this feature lists recently executed programs and optionally tracks all URLs visited by each.

If the programs report reveals that a suspicious program has been connecting with shady websites, you can click a button to block the program. Doing so puts it in Panda's Recycle Bin and prevents it being used.

Federal Firefighters Can Get Health Insurance | Latest Headlines

The cry went up on June 29, when President Obama visited parts of Colorado devastated by wild fires: Temporary federal firefighters should be eligible for federal health insurance. Well, less than a month later, they are.

Under an interim government regulation issued July 17, 2012 by the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM), temporary federal firefighters and fire protection employees can now purchase health insurance coverage for themselves and their families under the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program (FEHBP), just like full-time federal employees.

While they are employed, participating temporary fire fighters will have about 72% of their health insurance premiums paid by the FEHBP, similar to full-time federal employees. In 2011, monthly FEHBP insurance premiums averaged about $500 for individual plans and $1,200 for family plans.

About 90% of all federal employees ? over 8 million people ? participate in the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program.

While most temporary federal employees must work continuously for at least one year before they can get FEHBP insurance, the new OPM rule makes an exception for firefighters because of the inherent risks they face and the importance of their jobs to the nation.

?The day-to-day job of a firefighter involves frequent exposure to environmental risk factors that can precipitate the onset of severe and life-threatening diseases like cancer,? stated the OPM in its interim rule. ?The nature of this work necessarily involves intense physical stress that can result in potentially fatal cardiac events, job-related injuries, and an adverse psychological impact.?

Due to the seasonal ?We?ll call you when we need you,? nature of their jobs, temporary federal firefighters will also be exempt from the standard requirement for a minimum number of hours worked annually to qualify for coverage under FEHBP.

?Issuing this interim final regulation meets President Obama?s direction to ensure that the brave men and women who compose our nation?s federal firefighter ranks, and who are currently fighting dangerous wildfires in states across the country, are eligible for the same health insurance available to other federal employees, retirees and their families,? said OPM Director John Berry said in press release.

The OPM regulation allows temporary firefighters to continue their FEHBP health insurance coverage during periods when they are not actively employed, but they will be responsible for paying 100% of the policy premiums.

Aurora Rep. Ed Perlmutter Pledged To Renew Assault Weapons Ban

WASHINGTON -- Rep. Ed Perlmutter, who represents Aurora, Colo., where a gunman opened fire at a midnight showing of "The Dark Knight Rises," originally ran for Congress on a pledge to support reviving a federal assault weapons ban.

Details about the weapons that alleged shooter James Eagan Holmes used in the massacre are still emerging, but the killings are certain to revive debate over gun control and whether more should be done to restrict access to firearms.

Perlmutter, a moderate Democrat who represents Colorado's 7th District, was elected to Congress in 2006. During the hard-fought Democratic primary, he ran ads against rival Peggy Lamm, a former state representative, that accused her of ties to the Republican gun lobby.

Although Aurora was recently named one of the safest cities in America, the issue of gun control resonates there. Aurora is less than 20 miles from the site of the Columbine High School shootings, which left 13 people dead in 1999.

Before the 2006 primary, Perlmutter campaigned with the father of a victim of the Columbine massacre. Tom Mauser, whose son Daniel was among a dozen students killed, said he supported the former state senator because Perlmutter promised to work to revive the assault weapons ban that expired in 2004. The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence also endorsed Perlmutter.

On Friday, the congressman reacted to the attack by a "crazed son-of-a-gun" by saying, "Colorado is not a violent place but we have some violent people." He added that he was "stunned and furious."

Perlmutter's Republican challenger this year is Joe Coors, the 70-year-old great-grandson of beer baron Adolph Coors. After the shooting, he said on his Facebook page, "Words can't capture the horror and tragedy of the shooting this morning in Aurora. The families and loved ones of the victims, as well as the emergency and medical professionals, are in mine and Gail's thoughts and prayers."

The National Rifle Association endorsed Coors earlier this month. "Joe Coors is a strong supporter of national concealed carry, the Firearms Interstate Commerce Reform Act, and legislation to help open access to public lands to sportsmen," the NRA said. "In contrast, his opponent, Congressman Ed Perlmutter, voted against the Sportsmen?s Heritage Act of 2012 and the National Right to Carry Reciprocity Act. In addition, Congressman Perlmutter supports the reauthorization of the Clinton Gun Ban and refused to sign both the Heller and McDonald amicus briefs."

In welcoming the NRA's endorsement, Coors said, "My opponent seems to think that taking guns away from the good guys will keep the bad guys from getting them." He continued, "Unlike my opponent, I trust Colorado's gun owners and will work in Congress to ensure that they enjoy the freedom the Second Amendment guarantees, not less."
