Bake Just One Cookie First to Avoid Ruining a Whole Batch

Bake Just One Cookie First to Avoid Ruining a Whole BatchThinking of trying a new cookie recipe anytime soon? Instead of baking the entire tray, bake just one cookie by itself so you can make sure the baking time and oven temperature are right.

This tip comes from Reddit user Hellotrou, whose grandmother used to do this. Different baking materials and ovens produce different results (and oven temperatures can be very unreliable), so following a recipe to a T doesn't always ensure perfection.

Using one cookie as a guide can save you from the disappointment of having to toss out a whole batch of ruined cookies.
