Nash Baker Architects are looking for outstanding candidates with a minimum of four years genuine experience in the high end luxury residential and/or hospitality. This is an exciting time for the business which has an excellent reputation and a growing workload.

The practice believes successful residential projects require innovative and considered interior design input from conception to completion and is looking for an ambitious and experienced candidate who is prepared to help us grow this key aspect of our business.

Your role

We are looking for an ?all-rounder? with the confidence and experience to adapt to a varied workload. Specific responsibilities for the role will include:

  • day to day management and running of smaller discrete interior design projects, and working within a team on larger projects
  • working with senior architects to deliver high end luxury concepts which meets the client?s requirements
  • regular liaison with clients and delivering high quality presentations
  • sourcing appropriate materials and fabrics and dealing with suppliers
  • prepare or review joinery drawings, lighting schemes, electrical layouts for each project
  • contribute to the development of specific interior focused office procedures and methods of working
  • responsible for tracking the production of all interior design drawings and other information required by the architects to ensure deadlines are met
  • attending and recording minutes of client and site meetings
  • responsible for managing the interiors budget for each project; including the costing estimates and pricing
  • assisting the architects with the preparation of feasibility and planning documentation

We would like to meet applicants who can meet the below criteria:

Experience

  • four years plus experience in high end bespoke residential design and/or hospitality
  • a demonstrable track record of work as a project manager in an interior/architect design environment
  • a track record of independently developing ideas and presenting them to clients
  • knowledge of, and access to, a large array of luxury finishes, fittings, furniture and details
  • experience dealing with daily queries from building contractors
  • previous experience working on UK projects is essential

Creative

  • a sophisticated design flair and eye for colour and detail
  • a passion for interior design and familiarity of current residential trends
  • able to prepare concept layouts, sketches and mood-boards for presentation

Communication

  • fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • confidence in communicating with staff, consultants and clients (in person, phone, e-mail, letter and reports)
  • able to work well in a studio environment and as a member of a team
  • able to contribute to the team as a whole through the sharing of experience, technical skills and creative direction, suppliers and imagery

Skills

  • a degree or diploma in architecture or interior design
  • strong hand drawing ability is vital but candidates should also be fully conversant in AutoCAD, Sketch-Up, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Indesign.
