Good news for N-able partners looking to manage iOS and Android mobile devices. Remote monitoring and management (RMM) platform provider?N-able?s new upgrade to?its managed IT services platform, N-central?brings a long-awaited mobile device management component to the platform. It?s the centerpiece of new features in the most recent version of the platform. But there?s more new features, too. Here are the details.
N-central 9.1, announced today, includes a plug in module with MDM for?Apple?and?Android?devices and also adds deeper integration with?Autotask?and?ConnectWise?professional services automation (PSA) software, and new MSP Automation objects, policies, and enhancements to?Automation Manager, which enables the creation and delivery of repeatable processes. The upgrade, N-central 9.1, supports hybrid IT environments and mobile devices, as well as Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012.
N-able adds a new MDM module
N-able?s new MDM module, Mobile Manager, allows managed services providers (MSPs) to protect and manage their customers from potential security threats. MSPs have the ability to wipe data, lock devices and track devices. Corporate security policies, including minimum password requirements, access rights, and permissions, can be enforced. N-able?s Report Manager?provides administrators with the ability to generate performance and tracking reports on all mobile devices.
Enhanced Autotask and ConnectWise PSA integration
N-central 9.1?s new ticketing feature allows MSPs to configure N-central to create tickets in more than one queue for Autotask or service board for ConnectWise, integrating both PSA platforms. Time entry values can be added to the ticket, allowing administrators to assign time to scheduled tasks and self-healing actions. Tickets are not duplicated for services that transition back and forth between normal and warning/failed. N-able MSPs also gain the ability to sync larger amounts of asset data to the PSA software.
Automation Manager provides support for Windows 8
Automation Manager 1.5, an upgraded module, offers support for Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012, along with more than 55 new automation objects. The new automation objects cover a variety of categories including Active Directory domains and trusts, Active Directory sites and service, file management, printer management, system management, and Windows Defender management.
?The explosive growth of mobile across the small to midsize business (SMB) and enterprise (SME) landscape presents both challenge and opportunity to the MSP community,? said N-able Technologies President JP Jauvin. ?We?ve been working closely with our partners to ensure that our new Mobile Manager module does what they need it to, and more. With their input and the skill of our R&D team, we?ve developed a winning MDM solution that not only gets the job done, but also provides MSPs with a significant service advantage that will help generate more value in the eyes of their customers.?
