IT'S BEGINNING to look a lot like Christmas and some Clarence Valley retailers are flat out trying to keep up with demand.
EB Games Grafton store manager Brian Ryan said interest in electronic gaming was booming this season, with total sales to date already exceeding last year's results to the end of December.
"This Christmas is going to be very big," Mr Ryan said.
He said the November 30 release of the all new Nintendo Wii U had received plenty of interest from shoppers, leading to local stock virtually selling out within hours. The console also launches a range of new titles with New Super Mario Bros U, and Ubisoft's ZombiU among the hottest selling.
Mr Ryan said other titles proving popular for gamers include Activision's Call of Duty: Black Ops II, Nintendo Land, Halo 4, and Hitman.
Meanwhile, Maclean Toyworld owner Sharon Moore said she had been surprised by some of the great reinventions this year, like Furbies and Lego.
"Lego continues to be a popular choice for many age groups, particularly boys; it's constantly evolving," she said.
Ms Moore said she is grateful for the support of people who shop locally.
